Angele Smith

Digicel Rising Stars finalist and Westmoreland native Angele Smith has a lot to smile about. The artiste has consistently been moving forward with his music and now is happy that his hard work is bearing fruit with his singleLet Me Know giving him the recognition for which he has been working.

The song Let Me Know was produced by Christopher Birch of Birchill Records for Kross Ova Entertainment Limited, the company that manages Smith's career. The video, which was shot this summer by noted director Shac of Shac Workz, was released recently and is now a chart performer, climbing the charts especially on CVM TV's Hit List where it held the number-three spot.

Angele is very happy with the early success he has seen since he left Digicel Rising Stars and is excited that his career is moving in the right direction.

"I have been singing since an early age and now I am finally seeing the fruits of my labour. Let Me Know has been doing very well on the Internet, radio and television, and people have been giving great feedback. We have some more songs to be released before the end of the year and I believe they will make a mark on the industry," he said.

musical stage

Wayne Wright of Kross Ova Entertainment believes that Angele is set to be a contender on the musical stage in Jamaica saying, "I think Let Me Know is a good start to a bright future for Angele. This was the first song that he sing-jayed and since then, it seems its something he's been doing all along. This singer is a breath of fresh air; he blends R&B, reggae, soul and dancehall into an eclectic mix of good music. He's definitely part of the future of the Jamaican music industry."

Lovely Lady and Come Ova Now, both produced by Liv Up Records are two other singles by Smith that have been doing well, especially in Europe.

He is also slated to release several new songs soon including Had A Girl and Mek Mi Love Yuh, both on the G.I. Productions label. Smith, who is looking forward to working with other producers and making several live appearances in the next couple months, is also set to shoot a medley video which will be released in early 2011.
